About Newmarket

The name Newmarket was derived from the fulltime market that saw in the downtown area, which grew substantially well into the 19th century. Newmarket lies north of the city of Toronto and within the Greater Toronto Area and is part of the Golden Horseshoe. Newmarket has been beautifully maintained the downtown heritage conservation district for over 100 years. The real estate market includes bungalows, detached and semi-detached houses, townhouses, and country homes.

When driving to Toronto, drivers can use Davis Drive or Vivian Road/Mulock Drive then proceed to Highway 404 to connect to Highway 400 by using Highway 9.
